Made without a speck of added sugar, this nutty granola is "sweet" with raisins and spiced with cinnamon. Pecans lend their own natural sweetness and rich, buttery taste to the mix, too.
While the ancient Greeks were the first to embrace cereal as the breakfast of champions, our pour-and-serve varieties all started in the late 1800s with what was first called "granula" but changed to the more palatable name of granola by Dr. Kellogg, who went on to found the cereal empire based on its success. Lucky for us, the fervor for granola made it the "it" health food of the 60s and 70s, sparking an explosion in flavor varieties that just keeps on keepin' on.
But not all granola is created equally, and this one happens to be made with only non-GMO ingredients and those that are support fair trade policies. Besides pecans, you'll get raisins and sunflower seeds, plus subtle spice from cinnamon. What you won't get is any added sugar or sweetener, just a natural, clean taste.
