Smaller in stature but with an outsized flavor, Spanish peanuts have a long tradition as energizing, satisfying snacks. We roast them each week for maximum freshness; these are lightly salted and mighty delicious.
Contrary to what you might think, Spanish peanuts are not originally from Spain but rather South America. Turns out this breed of peanut was perfected in Spain sometime during the 1770s before making its way back to the New World. Today Spanish peanuts are mostly grown in Texas and Oklahoma, and are of course a popular American pastime.
This might also surprise you: Peanuts are not true nuts but a type of legume that grows in a pod, similar to beans, peas, and lentils, and with a similar protein-packed, high-fiber profile. Plus peanuts are also rich in heart-healthy unsaturated fats. So now you have even more reasons to munch on these full-flavor snacks.
